This seminar, offered by the Escuela de Hosteleria of Jerez, provides the historical background and knowledge of this famous wine producing region. From how the grapes are grown to the intricate process of elaboration, the participants will gain first hand knowledge of this centuries old tradition.
Course Description

This opportunity will begin on September 4th and will last for thirty hours for 2 weeks from Monday to Friday. The seminar will be divided in 2 modules: theory and practice, 5 sessions of 3 hours of theory and 5 sessions of 3 hours of practical classes.

1. Wines from Jerez, Xerez, Sherry and Manzanilla de Sanlucar.

  • Denomination of Origins.
  • The viticulture of Jerez.
  • Elaboration of wine.
  • The diversity of sherry.
  • Savouring the wine.
  • Taste sessions

2. Brandy of Jerez

  • Historical background.
  • What is Brandy?.
  • Process of elaboration.
  • Economical and social importance.
  • Consumption of Brandy.
  • Regulations.
  • Taste sessions

3.- Tours of the Bodegas
